Overnight incidents 28/29 November

Maltby firefighters were called out to a cat rescue at 7:55pm. The cat was trapped in the wall area of an airing cupboard at a property on Penwood Walk, Sunnyside, Rotherham. Firefighters were able to rescue the cat safely who was none the worse for its ordeal. Crews left the scene at 8:20pm.

At 10:05pm Central station attended a van fire on Framlingham Place, Sheffield. Firefighters used a hose reel to put the fire out which had been started deliberately. They left the scene at 10:45pm.

At 1:10am this morning there was a deliberate rubbish fire on Wilton Lane, Bradgate, Rotherham. Rotherham station attended the fire before leaving the scene at 1:30am.

There was a skip on fire at 1:15am on Parkwood Road, Sheffield. Two fire engines from Central and Rivelin stations attended. The fire is believed to have started accidentally.  The crews left at 2:50am.

Several wheelie bins were on fire this morning at 3:55am on Erskine View, Sheffield. Firefighters from Central were called out to the incident. They used a hose reel to quickly extinguish the fire which had been started deliberately. They left the scene at 4:15am.

Firefighters from Rotherham and Parkway were called to a house fire, on Stag Crescent, at 4.21pm. Four breathing apparatus wearers entered the property to extinguish the fire and ensure nobody was inside. It is thought the fire originated from a damaged power cable. There were no injuries. The fire was out and crews had left the scene by 8.15pm.
