Overnight incidents 4/5 July 2024

Four fire crews attended a field fire near Adwick Lane, Toll Bar, Doncaster after a call was received at 7.33pm. Approximately 100 square metres was well alight. Crews used three hose reels and one main jet to extinguish the fire which had been dealt with by 9.21pm.

A fire engine from Central attended a garden fire on Tummon Road, Sheffield after a call was received at 11.45pm. On arrival crews gained access to rear garden to find the fire near a house which had ruptured a gas main. One hosereel was used to damp down the wall and window to prevent fire spread. Crews gained access into front door of property using a breaking in drill to check for any occupiers. The property was empty except for one dog which was extracted from the building. Neighbouring residents were evacuated whilst crews worked with a gas engineer to isolate the gas supply.  The incident had been dealt with by 2am.

One crew from Rotherham attended a car fire on Roughwood Way, Wingfield after a call was received at 3am. The fire, located in the boot area, was extinguished using a hose reel. The fire is believed to have been set deliberately. Crews came away at 3.29am.
