A post box was set alight outside a post office in Conisbrough last night (23 October).
The blaze broke out at around 9.30pm on Church Street and was started deliberately.
The crew from Edlington fire station tackled the blaze using a hose reel.
Deliberate fires- however small- potentially divert firefighters from more serious incidents, putting lives at risk.
People starting fires deliberately should be reported to the police on 101 or to Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
