Spate of car fires across South Yorkshire overnight

South Yorkshire fire crews were called to several car fires overnight.

At 7:37pm Thorne blue watch attended an incident on The Crescents, Dunscroft in Doncaster. On arrival they found a Volkswagen Passat well alight, it is believed to have caught fire accidentally.

At 11:55pm Thorne blue watch were called out to Sour Lane, Fishlake in Doncaster where they found a burnt out vehicle. They were unable to determine the make and model, however, it is believed to have been started deliberately.

At 12:41am Parkway blue watch responded to reports of a car on fire on Vikinglead Road in Sheffield. On arrival they found the vehicle was completely burnt out, again believed to have been started deliberately.

At 02:18am Parkway blue watch were called to reports of a Citroen Xsara on fire. On arrival at Kingston Street in Sheffield, they found that the vehicle had caught fire accidentally and were able to quickly put it out.

Finally, at 02:21am Parkway blue watch attended an incident on Mansfield Road in Sheffield. On arrival, they found a vehicle had been set alight deliberately, but was so badly damaged they were unable to get vehicle details.
