Warehouse fire in Sheffield

Update – 8am 04.07.2020

Three fire engines are still at the warehouse fire in Sheffield this morning.

The fire is under control but is still burning slightly inside the premise.

Firefighters will remain at the scene for several more hours.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place once the fire is completely out.


 

Six fire crews were called out to a large fire at a warehouse unit at 11:55pm in Parkwood Business Park, Parkwood Road, Sheffield.

The crews from Rivelin, Central, Parkway, Birley Moor, Elm Lane and Tankersley stations are currently tackling the blaze.

The building is well alight and firefighters are working hard to get the fire under control.

There is a large amount of smoke in the area and local residents are advised to keep their doors and windows closed until the smoke clears.

Firefighters are asking people to try and avoid the area if possible. Parkwood Road and Hoyland Road are currently closed due to the firefighting actions.

An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place once the fire is completely out.
