Weekend incidents 3 to 5 July

Doncaster and Edlington firefighters tackled a house fire on Ellis Crescent, New Rossington shortly before 8pm on Friday evening (3 July). Firefighters rescued a man from the property and extinguished the fire using hose reels whilst wearing breathing apparatus. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters left the scene at around 11pm.

A Hyundai Amica was set alight on St John’s Road, Park Hill at around 2.30am on Saturday. The fire was started deliberately and dealt with by firefighters from Central fire station.

Burgers caught fire under a grill on Acorn Avenue, Thurnsoe at around 2.30pm on Saturday. Edlington, Adwick and Dearne firefighters attended, but the blaze was out when they arrived on the scene. Smoke alarms helped to raise the alarm.

A transit van was set alight on Pudding and Dip Lane, Hatfield at around 3.30pm on Sunday. Thorne firefighters dealt with the deliberate blaze.

A car being towed on the High Road, Warmsworth ignited at around 4pm on Sunday. It’s thought the fire started in the engine compartment and it was dealt with by Adwick firefighters.
