Weekend incidents – 12/13/14 March

Friday 12 March

Firefighters from Elm Lane were called to Barnsley Road, Sheffield, at 7.27pm. Upon arrival they found one car well alight. This was dealt with by 7.49pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Elm Lane were called to Ecclesfield Road, Chapeltown, at 9.34pm. Upon arrival they found a Nissan X-Trail car well alight in the middle of Smithy Woods. This was dealt with by 10.49pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Parkway were called to Stradbroke Avenue, Sheffield, at 9.40pm. Upon arrival they found a shed well alight. This was dealt with by 10.18pm and it is thought the fire was started by a discarded cigarette.

Saturday 13 March

Firefighters from Elm Lane were called to Longley Park, Crowder Road, Sheffield, at 0.54am. Upon arrival they found a car well alight in the middle of a park. This was dealt with by 3.13am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Central were called to Donnington Road, Sheffield, at 3.31am. Upon arrival the engine compartment of a van well alight. This was dealt with by 4.08am and it is thought the fire was caused by an electrical fault.

Firefighters from Doncaster and Thorne were called to Broadway, Dunscroft, Doncaster, at 3.39pm. Upon arrival they found a shed well alight in the garden of a property. This was dealt with by 4.38pm and it is thought the fire originated from a nearby chimenea that had not been properly extinguished.

Firefighters from Doncaster were called to Leger Way, Intake, at 7.13pm. Upon arrival they found a Vauxhall Corsa well alight in the middle of a field. This was dealt with by 8.08pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Edlington and Doncaster were called to Roberts Road, Balby, at 8.21pm. Upon arrival they found a house that was heavily smoke logged due to a kitchen fire. This was dealt with by 9.42pm and is thought to have started when the occupier was grilling food. There were no injuries.

Firefighters from Thorne were called to the Moto Services at Junction 5 of the M18, at 9.14pm. Upon arrival they found a Blue Grand Cherokee well alight. This was dealt with by 10.01pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Parkway were called to Angleton Green, Sheffield, at 10.30pm. Upon arrival they a garden gazebo and fencing on fire. This was dealt with by 11.15pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Sunday 14 March

Firefighters from Rivelin were called to Oughtibridge Lane, Sheffield, at 2.28am. Upon arrival they found a Blue VW well alight, head on into a tree. This was dealt with by 3.03pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Elm Lane were called to Longley Park, Crowder Road, Sheffield, at 5.40am. Upon arrival they found a Peugeot well alight. This was dealt with by 6.20am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Edlington and Rotherham were called to Barton Place, Conisbrough, at 3.15pm. Upon arrival they found a kitchen fire that had started when the occupier left his food on an electric hob. This was dealt with by 4.54pm and nobody was injured.
