Weekend incidents 14/16 May

At 10:18pm on Friday night (14 May), firefighters from Tankersley were called to a small vehicle fire on Rockley Lane in Birdwell, Barnsley. This was a Mercedes Vito van fully involved in the fire. The fire was believed to have been started deliberately and crews left at 11:00pm.

Another van was well alight in Ecclesall Wood on Abbey Lane in Sheffield. Firefighters from Lowedges were called to the fire and left the scene at 00:13am. The fire was believed to have started accidentally.

A black Fiat Punto had been set alight on Warmsworth Road in Balby, Doncaster at 11:48pm on Friday night. A crew from Edlington left the scene at 00:22am and deemed the fire to have started deliberately.

At 01:10pm on Saturday afternoon (15 May), a crew from Birley Moor were called to an incident on Silkstone Drive in Sheffield. Crews arrived to find a fire that had started in a wheelie bin which was stored against a prefabricated shed. Additional plastic waste bins also caught fire causing the fire to spread inside the shed. Nobody was injured. Crews left the scene at 02:24pm.

A car had been set alight on East Bank in Stainforth, Doncaster at 02:49am Sunday morning. One crew from Thorne attended and left the scene at 03:24am. They deemed the fire to have started deliberately.
