Fire crews were called to a flat fire on Station Road in Wombwell on Thursday, just after 8pm. Dearne, Cudworth and Tankersley fire crews all responded to the incident which involved smoke coming from an electrical socket. A young couple were inside the property at the time of the incident, but were unharmed. Firefighters isolated the electrics and made the scene safe.

Rubbish was set alight beneath a bridge on Centenary Way in Rotherham around 9.30pm on Thursday. Rotherham firefighters used buckets of water to deal with it.

A Vauxhall Corsa was set alight on Leighton Road in Sheffield at around 10.45pm on Thursday. Birley Moor firefighters dealt with the incident, which was started deliberately.
