Weekend incidents 16/18 May 2025

Friday

Two fire engines attended a fire involving a large vehicle on Gin House Lane, Munsbrough, Rotherham after a call was received at 5.25pm. The fire was located on a c0nveyor belt and was extinguished using one hose reel. The incident had been dealt with by 7pm.

Saturday

Three fire engines attended a house fire on Crookesmoor Road, Sheffield after a call was received at 4.43am. One hose reel and one jet were used to extinguish the fire which was located in a bedroom. The incident is believed to have been caused an electrical fault in an LED light which spread to a nearby book cabinet. One man was taken to hospital for precautionary checks by paramedics. The incident had been dealt with by 5.35am.

Three fire engines attended a house fire on Wyvern Gardens, Sheffield after a call was received at 6.11pm. The fire started on decking to the rear of the house and spread to the window. The kitchen was very heavily smoke logged but a closed internal door prevented significant smoke damage to the rest of the property. A crew wearing breathing apparatus ventilated the kitchen and the fire was extinguished using a hose reel. The fire is believed to have been caused accidentally. The incident had been dealt with by 7.28pm.
