Weekend incidents 26/29 May 2023

Saturday 27 May

Three fire crews from Maltby, Aston and Edlington stations were called out to a shed on fire at 9:30am on Duke Avenue, Maltby, Rotherham. The fire is believed to have started accidentally. The crews left the scene at 11:35am.

Firefighters from Cudworth and Barnsley stations attended an accidental fire at a premise on Barnsley Road, Cudworth, Barnsley at 10:45am. The fire involved an extraction unit.  Crews left the scene at 12:30pm.

A van was deliberately set on fire at 11:35pm on Stripe Road, Rossington, Doncaster. Firefighters from Doncaster station attended the incident. They left at 12:25am.

Sunday 28 May

Aston firefighters were called out to a deliberate car fire at 9:40am on the M1 between J31 – J32 northbound. The crew came away at 10am.

Three fire crews from Rotherham, Adwick and Rivelin stations were called out to a premise on Sharrow Street, Sheffield at 10am. One man went to hospital. The fire is believed to be accidental due to a battery/electrical. Crews left the scene at 11:35am.

A shed and garage were accidentally on fire at 4:15pm on North Royds Wood, Athersley North, Barnsley. Three fire crews from Cudworth and Barnsley stations attended the incident. They left at 5:20pm.

Firefighters from Rotherham, Maltby and Elm Lane stations were called out to an industrial unit at 8:50pm on Taylors Court, Parkgate, Rotherham. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The crews came away at 11pm.

A car was accidentally on fire at 10:50pm on Standish Bank, Sheffield. Firefighters from Elm Lane station attended the incident. They left at 11:25pm.
