Weekend incidents – 7/8/9 May

Saturday 8 May

Firefighters from Parkway and Birley Moor were called to Saxonlea Crescent, Sheffield, at 0.27am. Upon arrival they found a car, that had rolled down a hill into a garden wall, well alight. This was dealt with by 1.02am and is thought to have been started deliberately. Nobody was injured and the fire didn’t spread to the related property.

Firefighters from Tankersley were called to Dovecliffe Road, Wombwell, at 3.14am. Upon arrival they found a car was well alight after leaving the road and hitting a nearby tree. This was dealt with by 4.43am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Cudworth and Tankersley were called to Dodworth Green Road,  Dodworth, at 3.19pm. Upon arrival they found a small barn, full of straw and timber, well alight. This was dealt with by 4.07pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Sunday 9 May

Firefighters from Maltby were called to Moorhouse Drive, Thurcroft, at 2.02am. Upon arrival they found a Jaguar car well alight. The fire was so severe that there was flame and heat damage to a neighbouring car and the windows of the owner’s property. This was dealt with by 3.11am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Rivelin were called to Rivelin Valley Road, Sheffield, at 5.45pm. Upon arrival they found a fire in the engine bay of a 1965 Chevy Corvair. This was dealt with by 6.19pm and is thought to have started accidentally.
