Overnight incidents – 9/10 May

Firefighters from Cudworth were called to Hillside Brierley, Barnsley, at 8.07pm. Upon arrival they found a sofa on fire on some waste ground. This was dealt with by 8.35pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Edlington were called to Douglas Road, Balby, at 8.16pm. Upon arrival they found a shed, approximately 10m by 3m, well alight. This was dealt with by 9.23m and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Rotherham were called to Back Lane, Nether Haugh at 11.03pm. Upon arrival they found a car well alight. This was dealt with by 11.54pm and is thought to have been started deliberately. The damage was so significant it wasn’t possible to confirm what type of car this was, but it appeared to be a Nissan 4×4.

Firefighters from Central and Parkway were called to City Road, Sheffield, at 1.13am. Upon arrival they found a detached domestic garage well alight. This was dealt with by 3.08am and is thought to have started accidentally – due to hot ashes from a nearby bonfire.
