Weekend incidents 7/8 March

Central, Birley Moor and Rivelin firefighters attended a heavily smoke logged flat on Sydney Road in Sheffield at around 8.15pm on Friday (6 March). The flat had been unoccupied for some time and the fire started in the front bedroom of the property. It’s fire involved some rubbish and it’s thought it was started deliberately. Firefighters ventilated the property using fans and left the scene after around 90 minutes.

Parkway firefighters dealt with a blaze involving a car on a driveway on Archdale Road in Sheffield around 11pm on Friday. The fire was started deliberately.

A car was set alight in a field off Dog Kennels Lane, Kiveton Park at around 1.45am on Saturday. Aston Park firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze, which was started deliberately.

Tankersley, Dearne and Cudworth firefighters tackled a fire involving a brick outbuilding on Mellor Road in Wombwell at around 01.50am on Sunday. The fire is thought to have been started deliberately. Firefighters were on the scene for around an hour.

Parkway firefighters dealt with a car fire on the M1 Southbound on Saturday morning just after 5am. The fire involved the exhaust and started accidentally.
