Firefighters were called to East Deane in Rotherham this morning (Monday 1 July), at around 4.05am, to reports of a house fire.
Upon arrival the crew, from Rotherham, found a fire that had spread from a wheelie bin to the window frame, guttering and soffits of a house, as well as some nearby fencing.
The property, on Far Lane, ended up severely smoke logged due to the fire – which is thought to have been started deliberately.
Breathing apparatus wearers used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire before entering the property to clear the smoke.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
