Wheelie bin pushed against house and set alight

A wheelie bin was pushed up against a Rotherham house and set alight.

Heat from the blaze on Ferham Road, Holmes broke a kitchen window.

Rotherham and Elm Lane stations attended the incident at around 8.40pm on Wednesday.

Firefighters used a hose reel to tackle the blaze and specialist equipment to ventilate the property.

The maximum sentence for arson is life in prison.
