An older woman was led to safety by firefighters after a house fire in Doncaster.

The blaze on Gattison Lane, New Rossington started at around 16.40pm.

It’s thought the woman had discarded a cigarette in a waste bin.

The bin smouldered and was extinguished by firefighters. The woman was not hurt in the incident.

Edlington, Adwick and Doncaster firefighters tackled the blaze.
