Overnight incidents 6/7 May

Firefighters from Cudworth station were called out to a deliberate rubbish fire at 8:50pm on Station Road, Wath Upon Dearne, Rotherham. The crew left at 9:35pm.

A tree was accidentally set on fire last night at 8:55pm on Swan Street, Bentley, Doncaster. A fire crew from Adwick station attended the incident. They came away at 9:15pm.

At 9:30pm last night, a fire crew from Parkway station was called out to a deliberate rubbish fire on Lumley Street, Sheffield. The crew left the scene at 9:50pm.

Three fire engines from Elm Lane and Central stations were called out at 10:55pm to a flat fire on Blyde Road, Sheffield. Firefighters entered the smoke filled flat and rescued a man. The man is believed to have made a full recovery and didn’t go to hospital. The fire was due to a hob being accidentally left on. The crews came away at 11:30pm.

At 1:05am three fire crews from Dearne and Adwick stations were called out to High Street, Thurnscoe, Barnsley where a Seat Leon car was on fire and had spread to a van. Firefighters used hose reels to quickly put the fire out which is believed to have been started deliberately. The crews left at 2:05am.

Firefighters from Tankersley station were called out to a deliberate rubbish fire at 1:25am on Wombwell Lane, Blacker Hill, Barnsley. The crew left at 1:45am.

A transit van was deliberately set on fire at 3am this morning on Thornbury Hill Lane, Firbeck, Rotherham. Maltby firefighters attended the incident.  They left at 4am.
