Residents of a Rotherham flat managed to escape unharmed after the pizza restaurant below caught fire.

A blaze broke out in Pizza Paradise on Wellgate in the town centre at around 5am on Saturday morning.

Two fire engines from Rotherham station tackled the incident which caused smoke and fire damage to the takeaway.

Luckily, the occupants of the flat above all managed to get out safely.

It’s thought an electrical fault caused the fire.
