Fire crews rescue man trapped by fire

Five fire crews were called to an industrial premise on Shepcote Lane in Sheffield at 7:45am on Thursday morning.

On arrival crews from Parkway, Elm Lane, Rotherham, Central and Birley Moor stations found a large industrial oven had caught fire and had spread to nearby pallets.

One man was trapped in an office area above the fire.  Control room staff stayed on the phone with the man giving him fire survival guidance and relaying information back to the fire crews as to where he was in the building.  This enabled firefighters to reach him quickly and lead him safely outside where he was then taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.

Firefighters worked hard to bring the fire under control.

Fire crews left the at 10am.
