Four fire engines from Cudworth, Barnsley, Tankersley and Dearne stations were called to a derelict building fire on Saturday evening at 8pm on Grange Lane in the Cundy Cross area of Barnsley.

The top floor of the building was on fire when crews arrived.  Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to put the fire out.

Fire crews left the scene at around midnight.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
