Overnight incidents – 10/11 May

Firefighters from Thorne were called to Lands End Road, Thorne, at 7.31pm. Upon arrival they found a load of fly tipped rubbish stretching the length of the road. This was dealt with by 8.30pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Barnsley were called to Westwood Country Park, Greaves Lane, at 9.21pm. Upon arrival they found a small grass fire next to the park entrance. This was dealt with by 9.40pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Thorne were called to Tudworth Road, Hatfield, at 10.05pm. Upon arrival they found a pile of rubbish fly tipped near a roundabout. This had been dealt with by 10.39pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Dearne were called to Carr Head Lane, Bolton-upon-Dearne, at 10.26pm. Upon arrival they found the fire was out on arrival. It had involved a small amount of clothing and garden equipment in a shed, that had set alight when a cigarette butt was discarded incorrectly. It was dealt with by 10.42pm.

Firefighters from Lowedges were called to Bowshaw Close, Sheffield, at 10.40pm. Upon arrival they found a car well alight. This was dealt with by 11.18pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Dearne were called to Highthorn Road, Kilnhurst, at 2.36am. Upon arrival they found a pile of rubbish alight at the back of a house. This had been caused by a discarded cigarette and the property, and the neighbouring house, ended up slightly smoke logged. This was dealt with by 3.11am.
