Overnight incidents 4/5 December

Firefighters from Cudworth attended a wheelie bin fire on Southgate in Hoyland, Barnsley, after being called at 6.38pm. They used a hose reel jet and left around 7pm. It is thought to have been started deliberately.

A crew from Thorne attended a fire involving a small amount of domestic waste on some scrubland off East Lane, Stainforth. They were called at 7.12pm, used a hose reel jet and left at 7.26pm. It is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Edlington and Doncaster attended a car fire on the hard shoulder of the M18 Northbound Motorway, near Junction 4, Doncaster. This was a BMW that was well alight, with the fire being within the engine compartment. They used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet, were called at 7.14pm and left around 8.11pm. It is thought this started accidentally.

A crew from Doncaster attended a fire involving a Ford KA that had been abandoned, and set alight, in a farmers field. This was on Mere Lane, Armthorpe, and the call came in at 7.43pm. They left around 8.30pm and it is thought the fire was started deliberately.

Firefighters from Dearne attended a detached garage fire on Hough Lane, Wombwell, after being called at 9.48pm. Upon arrival they found a load of household rubbish alight. They used a hose reel jet and left around 11.15pm. It is thought this fire was started deliberately.

A crew from Rotherham attended a fire involving a commercial skip, full of card, paper and building waste, on Aldwarke Lane, Aldwarke. They were called at 2.42am, used a hose reel jet and left at around 2.56am. It is thought this fire was started deliberately.

Firefighters from Rotherham attended a fire involving some domestic waste and building materials in the back garden of a property on Cavendish Road in Holmes. They were called at 5.01am, used a hose reel jet and left at around 5.16am. It is thought the fire was started deliberately.
