Overnight incidents 6/7 April

Firefighters from Cudworth attended a fire in a farmers field on Swaithe View, Worsborough Dale, at 7.17pm last night. Approximately 20 square metres of hedge was involved. This had been dealt with by 8.05pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Elm Lane attended a house on Kyle Crescent, Sheffield, at 7.28pm last night. Upon arrival they found a fence fire that had originated with a mattress being burnt in a back garden. The occupier was given advice around not burning rubbish. The incident had been dealt with by 7.42pm.

Firefighters from Aston Park were called to a garden fire on Manvers Road, Beighton, at 8.25pm last night. Upon arrival they found a bonfire that had spread to a shed which was alight. The occupant was given advice around not burning rubbish in future. The incident had been dealt with by 9pm.

Firefighters from Parkway were called to a fire on Harborough Close, Sheffield, at 8.45pm last night. Upon arrival they discovered a fire in a field behind two properties – both of which had bonfires in the garden to burn rubbish. Firefighters extinguished one of the bonfires, and the fire in the field, and left a small controlled burn in the hands of the occupants. They left the scene at 11pm.

Firefighters from Aston Park were called to a fire at a property on Park Avenue, North Anston, at 9.08pm last night. Upon arrival they discovered a small controlled bonfire had spread to the surrounding garden fence. They left at 9.40pm.

Firefighters from Doncaster were called to a car fire on Long Lands Lane, Doncaster, at 9.20pm last night. Upon arrival they found a car had been deliberately set alight in a closed off car park. After extinguishing the fire they left the scene at 10pm.

Firefighters from Central were called to a fire on Ecclesall Road, Sheffield, at 10.04pm last night. Upon arrival they found a small pallet and hedge fire next to a restaurant – which is believed to have started accidentally. They left the scene at 10.20pm.

Firefighters from Adwick were called to a fire on the side of the A1 Motorway – between Junction 38 and Junction 37 – at 10.41pm last night. Upon arrival they found a small rubbish fire at the side of the carriageway. It is thought this was started accidentally and the crew left at 11.21pm.

Firefighters from Edlington and Doncaster were called to a fire at a house on Walpole Close, Balby, at 0.51am this morning. This was a pile of rubbish that had been set alight next to a detached garage. It is thought to have been started deliberately. Firefighters left at 1.04am.

Firefighters from Rotherham were called to a fire on Warden Street, Canklow, at 2.41am this morning. Upon arrival they found a wheelie bin well alight – this was extinguished with a hose reel. It is thought to have been started deliberately and the crew left the scene at 2.54am.

Firefighters from Rotherham were called to Castle View, Canklow, at 3.28am this morning. Upon arrival they found a pile of fly tipped rubbish had been set alight, deliberately, and spread to a fence and children’s play slide. This was extinguished by 5.10am.
