Weekend incidents – 13 to 15 November

Friday 13 November

Firefighters from Thorne were called to Waterside, Thorne, at 7.27pm. Upon arrival they found a red Mini Cooper well alight. This was dealt with by 8pm and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Central and Lowedges were called to Brinkburn Vale Road, Sheffield, at 11.23pm. Upon arrival they found an integrated dishwasher on fire in a kitchen. Thanks to working smoke alarms the owner had been able to get out of the house, fire damage was limited to the two neighbouring worktops and smoke damage was limited to the kitchen only. This was dealt with by 0.19am, nobody was injured and it is thought to have started accidentally.

Saturday 14 November

Firefighters from Aston Park were called to Common Lane, Thurcroft, at 3.20am. Upon arrival they found a Mitsubishi Shogun well alight. This was dealt with by 4.17am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters from Rivelin and Central were called to reports of a house fire on Winkley Terrace, Sheffield, at 4.18am. Upon arrival they found a firework had been put through a letterbox and smoke had caused the alarm to actuate. Crews left the scene at 4.48am.

Firefighters from Elm Lane, Tankersley and Barnsley were called to an factory on Wentworth Way, Tankersley, at 9.27am. Upon arrival they found a fire within a paint bay and extraction unit. The fire was confined to the room of origin but the whole building was smoke logged. This was dealt with by 11.34am.

Firefighters from Doncaster were called to Ashville, New Rossington, at 6.42pm. Upon arrival they found a Range Rover Sport well alight. This was dealt with by 7.30pm and it remains unknown how the fire started.

Firefighters from Doncaster were called to Cranwell Road, Cantley, at 11.21pm. Upon arrival they found a car well alight. This was dealt with by 0.07am and is thought to have been started deliberately.

Sunday 15 November

Firefighters from Parkway, Central and Birley Moor were called to New Cross Drive, Sheffield at 12.30pm. Details of this incident can be found here.
