Weekend incidents 20/21/22/23 December

On Friday night at around 7:11pm, Central crews were called to a large vehicle fire on Fulwood Road. This was a bus which had ignited accidentally as a result of the engine. Firefighters left at 7:56pm.

We attended a number of vehicle fires on Saturday. Central attended vehicle fires on both Effingham Road and Yew Lane. On Effingham Road, a Chevrolet car was set on fire deliberately. On Yew Lane, a car had been dumped and set on fire at around 6:15am.

Central, Parkway and Lowedges crews also attended a house fire on Saturday on Cervase Avenue. They were called at 11:08am and arrived to find smoke coming from the front and rear of the property. The cause of the fire was deemed accidental, caused by an electrical wiring unit accessed outside of the property which had been burning for some time. They left at 12:26pm.

Firefighters in Barnsley also attended a house fire on Saturday. Crews were called at 1:42pm to Locke Road in Dodworth with reports that a kitchen was on fire. Crews arrived to find that some rubbish/ take away bags had been left on the hob in the kitchen and a child had accidentally turned the hob on. Luckily no one was injured and firefighters left the scene at 2:02pm. The cause of the fire was accidental.

A 4:46pm on Saturday, Doncaster and Edlington crews were called to a bathroom fire at a property on Coniston Drive in Balby. Accidentally, the extractor fan in the en suite bathroom had caught fire. Again, there were no injuries and crews left at 5:37pm.

A faulty boiler was the cause of a fire in a agricultural building in Doncaster on Saturday. Doncaster attended this incident at 5:41pm and left at 6:26pm.

At 6:44pm on Saturday evening, Central and Parkway attended an incident on Parkway Drive. They arrived to find three trucks situated close to one another which had been deliberately set alight. After over an hour, firefighters left the scene at around 8:30pm.

On to Sunday, Thorne firefighters attended an incident at 7:08am on Thomas Road in Stainforth in which the contents of a skip had been set alight. The cause was determined as delibrate and crews left at 7:40am.

Finally, this morning at 00:16am (Monday 23 December) a crew from Maltby attended an incident on Duke Avenue in which a Toyota Aygo had been deliberately set on fire. They left the scene at 00:40am.
