We are not currently open for Wholetime Transfer-in applications.

ON-CALL TRANSFER-IN
South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue may consider Transfers-In applications to the role of On-Call Firefighter should there be an organisational requirement. If you meet the below eligibility criteria, please send an email to firefighterrecruitment@syfire.gov.uk with “On-Call Transfer-In” in the title to request an Initial Interest Form and to arrange a meeting on station.
Eligibility Requirements
· Live or work within 5 minutes of an SYFR On-Call Station;
o Askern
o Birley
o Dearne
o Penistone
o Rossington
o Stocksbridge
· Be able to provide sufficient hours of availability to meet organisational need
· Be on a substantive/permanent Firefighter contract on an On-Call or Wholetime Duty System within a UK Fire & Rescue Service. (Please note that applications from individuals from airport or defence fire services will not be accepted). If transfer is On-Call to On-Call, we understand that there may be a delay in between leaving one FRS and joining SYFR. The maximum gap between these contracts should be no more than 6 months.
· Have been deemed formally competent in role within your current UK Fire Service
· Be ‘in ticket’/up to date with all operational training in line with your current service training policy
· Have a satisfactory Personal Review, Appraisal or equivalent for the last year
· Not be in possession of any formal disciplinary sanctions at the point of application
· Not be subject to any informal or formal development plans within current role at point of application
· Have acceptable references provided by current UK Fire & Rescue Service
· Be medically fit to undertake the role applied for. (Please note medical sign off by our Medical Officer will be required). This will include being at the required level of Fitness in line with the SYFR Fitness Policy (42.3 vo2 Max level).
