Last night, between the hours of 9 and 11pm, a series of car fires were reported in the Barnsley/ Doncaster area.
The first incident reported was in Doncaster where one fire engine from the Doncaster station attended. Due to the length of time the vehicle had been alight before being reported, firefighters were unable to determine the make and model of the car.
The second incident reported was in Barnsley where one fire engine from the Dearne station attended. Upon arrival, firefighters found a Citroen DS4 alight which they successfully extinguished.
The final incident reported was also in Barnsley – one fire engine from the Dearne station attended. Upon arrival, firefighters found a Vauxhall Insignia well alight which they successfully extinguished.
There were no casualties and it is believed all three fires were started deliberately.
