Firefighters from Central were called to a car fire on Carwood Road in Sheffield last night (Tuesday 9 July) at around 11.47pm.
Upon arrival the crew found the vehicle, a Suzuki Swift, had been set alight. The fire had been contained to the driver and passenger compartment by a member of the public who had used a fire extinguisher to get the fire under control.
They used a hose reel jet to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and left around 0.09am.
It is thought that the fire had been started deliberately.
