Four car fires overnight

Firefighters from across South Yorkshire dealt with four different car fires overnight – each of which was started deliberately.

The first took place on Booth Road, Sheffield, at 10.35pm. A crew from Tankersley had extinguished the blaze, which involved a BMW, by 11.10pm.

Next was a car on Old Thorne Road, Hatfield. Firefighters from Thorne attended and dealt with the incident by 5.07am.

The Tankersley crew was then back out again to deal with an Audi A3 which was on fire. They were called at 4.55am and had dealt with the fire by 5.15am.

Firefighters from Lowedges were then called out at 5.05am to a fire on Whitelow Lane, Sheffield. They left the scene at 5.44am.
