A man in his 60s had to be taken to hospital as a precaution after inhaling smoke at a Sheffield house fire.
The blaze involved a fuse board and started on Walders Avenue at around 5.20am on Saturday.
The man tried to isolate the mains electricity supply himself, but was foiled by the smoke.
Central, Elm Lane and Rivelin firefighters then arrived to put out the fire, ventilate the property and make the scene safe.
A fire service spokesperson said: “It can be tempting to try to tackle an incident yourself, but even small fires can quickly develop so in the event of a fire always put your safety first- get out, stay out and call 999.”
