Fire crews spent three hours at an extensive blaze at a derelict property in Sheffield’s Birley area on Saturday afternoon.
They were initially called at 11.34am, and three crews arrived to find a large fire. There were initial fears that gas cylinders may have been involved, so firefighters fought the blaze from a safe distance. They finished operations at around 2.30pm, but the property was severely damaged.
It is believed the fire was started deliberately.
