An opportunity has arisen within our Business Intelligence section for a Strategic Performance and Insights Partner, based at Headquarters in Sheffield.

Overall Purpose
You will lead the management of performance functions within South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue (SYFR), ensuring robust data governance, insightful performance reporting, and evidence-based decision support. The role drives continuous improvement across the organisation by developing and embedding performance management frameworks, coordinating service improvement events, and supporting strategic decision-making through high-quality data and analysis.
About the Role
To be considered for this role, you will have a proven track record of managing teams to meet deadlines, as well as experience influencing senior managers. You will be adept at evaluating reports and procedures to identify improvements, writing high-quality reports, and using analytical tools such as Excel or Power BI to analyse complex data sets. Experience in designing and applying performance management frameworks, and managing multiple projects simultaneously, is essential.
You must possess a strong knowledge of statistical techniques, data quality principles, and relevant legislation such as GDPR. You must have excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences. You should be able to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Key duties will include developing and implementing performance management frameworks and producing corporate performance reports. You will oversee data collection systems, ensure data quality, and manage the Data Quality Analysts. You will roll out data literacy and quality training, review performance indicators, coordinating statutory data returns, and supporting the development of strategic documents and policies.

Salary Expectations
New starters will commence on the bottom of the salary grade and will receive increases to the top of the grade on an incremental basis. We offer 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays. Annual leave increases after 5 years’ service to 32 days, followed by an extra day a year up to a maximum of 37 days. We also operate a generous flexi time attendance scheme.
